First Flight Biosciences, a leading biology-focused Contract Research Organization (CRO) in Shanghai, announced today that it has received full accreditation from the Association for the Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) International. AAALAC is an internationally recognized, non-profit organization, which promotes the humane care and use of animals in science through voluntary accreditation and assessment programs.
 
Through extensive review of First Flight Biosciences'animal care and use program and on-site evaluation, AAALAC determined that First Flight Biosciences demonstrated its commitment to the highest level of animal care and use in research practices, in addition to complying with the local and national laws that regulate animal research.
 
The approval letter also acknowledged that "The management and staffs are commended for providing and maintaining excellent facilities and programs for the care and use of laboratory animals. Especially noteworthy were the excellent animal husbandary and care; the outstanding institutional support; the thorough Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) reviews and detailed records; and the exceptional occupational health and safety program."
